At the moment, we need four people to come aboard this season:
One male, young adult, for a small introductory role
One lighting tech
Two sound techs

Several of our previous tech staff have also moved on to
actual stage performance with us for this season,
hence our need for tech people.

Interesting day, to say the least....
day starts off with the rink database calling in sick
which throws things off at the rink.

I go up to the main store to cover lunches for
the staff - which takes longer than anticipated -
a combination of staff taking normal 1 hour lunches
instead of shorter duration lunches and the delay
of the last lunch.

I get back down to the rink just in time to see the last customers
and do some adjustments for ipod purchases.

caught the r7 out, and got off just in time to catch the 84 home.

a little unwinding via Blogshares and there you have it!

$20 into my PayPal account for bidding on a $8 eBay item -

how’d I manage that?

pretty easily, actually.

I signed up at Unwired Buyer.com,

a service that calls your cell phone when an item you’re tracking on eBay has 3 minutes left.

You hear the item’s current high bid, then you can place your bid by phone.

They get affiliate commisions fron eBay on the bids -

that’s how they make their money,

so signing up and bidding are both free.

So what’s the catch?

You need:

an Ebay account with a feedback of 10 or higher (or registered for more than 12 months)

a verified Paypal account (that’s where your money is sent)

other catches:

only works on auctions, not BuyItNow or EbayStores

only 1 $20 reward per account

you must bid within 30 days of signing up

I signed up, put an auction for lottery software on my watch list,

got a call 3 minutes before auction close, and placed my bid.

I hung on the line long enough to confirm my win.

called out sick today for work,

after which I went back to bed and slept for 11 hours.

This past weekend really messed me up -

at the end of it I had a sore throat and the beginnings of a cold/flu.

another night of sleep should do it for me.

parking space camping....

Revising the standard idea of "car camping," the P(LOT) designers have created tents out of car covers, which can be rented and erected in parking spaces (they're a perfect fit). Of course, there's no guarantee that you'll fool anyone into thinking there's actually a car underneath the cover, which could lead to strange encounters with the metermaid.

luckily I was able to get to my CPanel
and download full home directory and MySql backups,
which I'm moving over to a more expensive (and hopefully more reliable) host
Spry hosting, to be precise.....

now I just wait for all the DNS servers to catch up to the new host....

it seems that my webhosting company has been taken over
by another company, and in the resulting transition,
jmcgready.com no longer resolves.

it's probably a FUBARed custom name server or some such -
but only jmcgready was effected, not mereBreath .

that's what you get for $5/month webhosting....

Mom was sick today, she couldn't sleep, which is a real downer,
as Monday is the only day of the week not claimed by either
work or mereBreath as of late....

I went to get my Transpass and various other mall stuff
and I felt bad because I didn't get her anything.

right now I'm feeling that I'm doing a lot of good things
but failing at the most important things.

that's why I despise the shows of feigned helpless,
which only disguise the twin specters of willful ignorance and entitlementI
amongst the perfectly capable.

that last sentiment is, of course, indicative of my day job, not the ministry...

I'm done venting now...

just got in....
